Our new Artist in Residence at Sharp’s Point South has made our woodworking bench a little more artistic!  Geoffrey Vollers moved into the neighborhood this winter and when he popped-in to say hello he brought a gift, a beautiful graphic wood collage with bright blues, reds and yellows all made of carefully placed and layered pieces of hand carved wood.

Geoffrey has been living and making art in Maine since the early 1980’s working in painting, sculpture and stained glasswork.  He now concentrates on wood sculpture, furniture and miniatures. His studio is located in the big red barn across from the Children’s Museum and has lots to see and for sale so stop by and see him.

We couldn’t be more pleased at how our new piece of art makes our Woodworking bench pop!   On behalf of all of our little carpenters, thank you for the reminder of the potential of a simple piece of wood.
