Writing workshops in Belfast, Rockland

Maine Writers & Publishers Association is offering 19 different winter writing workshops in towns across Maine including Belfast and Rockland. The workshop topics include fiction, memoir, poetry, essays, screenwriting, book reviewing, crime fiction, historical fiction and more.

The upcoming Midcoast workshops take place during the day on Saturdays. Cost is $115, $65 for MWPA members. For more information and to register, call 228-8263 or visit mainewriters.org.

On Feb. 23, Susan Hand Shetterly will lead To Tell The Truth: A Workshop on Memory & Storytelling from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., including a 30-minute lunch break, at Belfast Free Library, 106 High St.

On March 16, Linda Aldrich will lead Place in Poetry: How Where We Live Inhabits Us from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., including a 30-minute lunch break, at Belfast Free Library, 106 High St.

On April 6, Patricia Taub will lead Discovering Our Stories: A Memoir Workshop from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Rockland Public Library, 80 Union St.
