Claire Jeanne Peloquin, 68, a resident of Albuquerque, N.M., and a former resident of Pawtucket, R.I., died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 after a short illness.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Ronald Peloquin; a daughter, Michelle; a brother, Roland Magnan and his wife, Rep. Veronica Magnan of the Maine Legislature; a niece, Rachel Kneeland, and her husband, Otis, and their sons of Stockton Springs; a nephew, Sgt. Jonathan Cook, and his wife, Nicole, and their daughters of Cumberland, R.I.; and a special cousin, Joyce Orr, and her family of Pawtucket, R.I.

She was predeceased by her parents, Leo C. Magnan and Doris A. (Bergeron).

Claire was born in Providence, R.I., Aug. 4, 1941. She was a hair stylist who owned and operated the Magic Mirror Beauty Salon in Pawtucket, R.I. She was active in fundraising for and support of special needs children and adults.

Claire was a kind and caring neighbor, and supported animal rescue efforts.

The family moved to Albuquerque, N.M., several years ago.

Burial of cremated remains will be in the family cemetery in Newmarket, N.H., at a later date.
