Sandra Estella (Benner) Winchenbach died Dec. 8, 2009, after a long battle with cancer.

She was born Feb. 5, 1953, to Richard and Elsie (Loud) Benner and grew up in Friendship and South Waldoboro. She graduated from Medomak Valley High School and married her high school sweetheart, Reginald Winchenbach.

After several years of traveling with Reggie in the Air Force they settled in Levant, where they raised their two children. They recently moved to Bucksport where they built their dream home.

Her sense of humor and commitment to family will be greatly missed.

Sandy is survived by her husband of 37 years, Reginald; her daughter, Tanya Marie (Seidel); her son, Jason Duane; her son-in-law, Scott; two granddaughters, Megan and Allison; her mother, Elsie (Loud) Benner; her maternal grandmother, Estella (Loud) Collamore; four sisters, Elaine Hyler, Molly Cooper, Alice Sullivan and Sarah Moran; her brother, Herbert Benner; her in-laws, Addison and Gerry Winchenbach, Evelyn Shover, Valorie Winchenbach and Rick Winchenbach; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A dinner to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, Dec. 12 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Searsport.

A private burial will be held at the Sweetland Cemetery in South Waldoboro.
