Jeanette E. Hatch, 67, died Jan. 5, 2010, at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor surrounded by her loving family after a period of failing health.

Jeanette was born Nov. 15, 1942, in Bucksport, a daughter of Joseph E. and A. Evelyn (Bossie) Johnson. She grew up in Bucksport and attended local schools.

She will be remembered as a very thoughtful, loving person who always put the needs of others above her own. Jeanette was a homemaker, and was employed for many years at the former Penobscot Poultry plant, and then the Bradbury-Harbor Hill Nursing Home in Belfast. She loved to knit, sew, read, sing, play cards and spend time with her children, grandchildren and other family and friends.

In addition to her husband of 47 years, Robert N. Hatch, of Northport, Jeanette is survived by a sister, Sheila Connor, of Camden; two brothers, Marc Johnson of Florida and Brian Johnson and his wife, Preil, of Bucksport; four sons, Robert Hatch and his companion, Deloris, of Swanville, Brian Hatch and his wife, Debbie, of New Hampshire, Roy Hatch and his wife, Laura, of Waldoboro, Richard Hatch and his wife, Amy, of Canton; a daughter, Lisa, and her companion, David, of Belfast; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, a sister, Verley Warren, of Northport, predeceased her.

A celebration of Jeanette’s life will be held Sunday, Jan. 10, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Belfast VFW, 34 Field St. Spring interment will in the family lot in Bucksport.
