Darrell “Skinny” McCauley, 76, died Jan. 8, 2010, at his residence.

He was born in Stonington, Dec. 17, 1933, a son of Elmer and Jessie (Gross) McCauley.

He was a U.S. Army veteran who drove trucks for Maplewood Poultry and Arian Farms. Darrell loved being a father, grandfather and great-grandfather and enjoyed the times when his daughters would sing to him in the car. He got along with everyone, and was a stranger to no one. He loved traveling down to Stonington, where he was born, and enjoyed family gatherings. He enjoyed the outdoors – hunting, fishing, camping and lobstering.

He was predeceased by his parents and a brother-in-law, Neville Morey.

Darrell is survived by his wife of 25 years, Debra McCauley; seven children, Glennis Clark of Belfast, Nadine McCauley and her partner, Scott Brown, of Morrill, Tammie Lovett and her husband, Jon, of South China, Amy Gould and her husband, William, of Searsmont, Stephanie Jones of Tennessee, Darrell McCauley of Albion, Heidi McCauley and her partner, Michael Duffy, of Camden; two siblings, Nonine Morey and her husband, Fuller Eaton, of Deer Isle and Delton McCauley and his wife, Linda, of Stonington; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14 at Searsport Full Gospel Church with the Rev. Cliff Gall officiating. Arrangements are with Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
