William E. “Bill” Alley, 77, of Poland and Bradenton, Fla., died
Jan. 8, 2010, in Sarasota, Fla.

Bill was born in Liberty. After serving in the Navy and Air
Force, he started his own log-hauling business and joined the Boilermakers Local Union 29. He retired in 1986.

Bill was a lover of life, friends and kids. He had a passion for
playing cards and was a gifted golfer, avid hunter, master fisherman, fan of NASCAR, and an incredible friend. He was beloved for his amazing generosity, passion for fun and quirky wit.

Survivors include his longtime companion, Hope Hall, and seven
much-loved grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his mother, Shirley (Searles) Bollier, his stepfather, Gerald Bollier, and a sister, Nancy Larabee.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Jan. 14, at 3:30 p.m. at Northwest Baptist Church, 7913 9th Ave NW, Bradenton, Fla. Dick Rioux will also be arranging for a celebration of his life to be held in Augusta in late spring.

He will be dearly missed.
