Two local drivers and a 3-year-old girl were unhurt after the wintry weather caused two vehicles to collide on Swan Lake Avenue Jan.18.

According to the accident report by Belfast Patrolman Howard Dakin, 27-year-old Dustyn J. Reynolds of Searsport was headed north on the avenue at about 8:20 a.m. when she rounded the corner near Goose River Grocery and got caught up in some snow that was in the center of the roadway.

Dakin said the northbound side of the road had been plowed, but the southbound side remained snow-covered. Reynolds skidded into the southbound lane, where she struck a 2006 Ford that was operated by Wayne Jewett, 57, of Swanville.

Jewett, Reynolds and Reynolds’ 3-year-old passenger, Isabelle Butler, all escaped injury.

Damage to Jewett’s vehicle was estimated at about $3,000. The vehicle Reynolds was operating, which was registered to Donald Davis of Searsport, sustained about $1,500 in damages.
