“David Estey – Abstraction,” an exhibit of 11 paintings and two drawings, will go on display Monday, Jan. 25 at the Robert E. White Art Gallery on the ground floor of Peabody Hall at Husson University, One College Circle. An artist’s reception open to the public will be held Tuesday, Jan. 26 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the gallery.

Estey is an award-winning painter from Belfast has taught and exhibited widely in Maine, the Mid-Atlantic States and in North Carolina. His work includes paintings and prints in a wide variety of styles and media. Born in Fort Fairfield, he graduated from Crosby High School in Belfast and went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in painting from Rhode Island School of Design, a master’s degree from George Washington University and continued his studies in painting in Rome, Italy; Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts; and Haystack Mountain School of Crafts.

The show will run through March 17. The Robert E. White Gallery is dedicated to exhibiting works by Maine artists in every possible medium. The gallery is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
