Waldo Community Action Partners is offering a free one-hour session on the importance of writing a will, with speaker Randy Mailloux, Esq., an attorney from the Belfast law firm Mailloux & Marden. This event will be Wednesday, Feb. 17 at the Belfast Free Library from 6-7 p.m.

Not having a will is just as much of a problem as trying to save money by crafting one using an Internet-based program, said Mailloux, who has worked with families who’ve spent even more money trying to untangle messy legal issues over badly written or nonexistent wills.

Mailloux will discuss how to make sure your family is well protected, receives exactly what you wish, and isn’t additionally stressed concerning your funeral arrangements. Most attorneys will charge a fee for the time it takes to learn how to write a will, so use this valuable session to your advantage and save money by getting all your initial information up front. Please bring a pen and notebook, and be ready with questions. When you come to the library, take the elevator to the third floor and look for the signs to the conference room.
