Lewiston alternative folk trio Old Man Forest and Portland singer/songwriter Alexis Pastuhov will perform Saturday night, Jan. 30 at Roots & Tendrils, 2 Cross St. The music will begin 8 p.m.; admission is $5.
Old Man Forest offers hopeful, heartfelt and honest impressions of the day-to-day and all the joy, struggle and wonder it brings. With drums, piano, guitar, and anything else that can be turned into an instrument, Jessy Kendall, Jordan Berube and Denise Dill collage torn-out scraps of poetry to create a lush green and hot pink cityscape sound.
Pastuhov has been writing original material for more than seven years and has played in bands in both the Portland and Midcoast region.
Next up in the Roots & Tendrils music series are Marie Stella, Isobell and Good Kids Sprouting Horns, set to play Saturday, Feb. 13 at 8 p.m.
