This free volunteer service, sponsored by the AARP Foundation in conjunction with the IRS, is offered to taxpayers of any age.

A non-custodial parent who claims a child as a dependent must now submit documentation for this, either a copy of the divorce or separation agreement, or Form 8332 signed by the custodial parent.
