An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Law enforcement officials with the Belfast Police Department reported the following activity between Jan. 19 and Jan. 26.

Jan. 19

Jasmine L. Cooper, 26, of Belfast was driving a 1997 Subaru north on Route 1 at about 1:30 p.m. having just crossed the bridge and failed to see traffic ahead of her was stopped. When she applied her brakes she went into a skid and struck the guardrails. There were no serious injuries. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $500.

At about 1 p.m., Donna L. Carbone, 64, of Frankfort was headed north on Swan Lake Avenue when she lost control on the slushy road and left the road on the right, striking a mailbox and a post. Damage to the car was estimated at $3,500.

At about 12:45 p.m. Kathleen R. Warner, 59, of Stockton Springs, who was driving a 2007 Subaru, was slowing in traffic on Route 1 due to an accident farther up the road. She had to stop quickly because of a skidding van in front of her. A 1994 Freightliner tractor-trailer truck, driven by David P. Mihalik, 45, of North Monmouth was unable to stop and hit the back of the Subaru. There were no injuries. Damage to the car was estimated at $2,000 and $1,000 to the tractor-trailer truck.

Karen D. Calcott, 46, of Belfast was summoned for operating an unregistered motor vehicle that was between 30 and150 days past-due.

Annette O. McCormick, 39, of Thorndike was summoned for operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

Jan. 20

Richard L. Peavey Jr., 34, of Montville was summoned for violation of a protection order.

Jan. 21

At 9:13 a.m. Kellie A. Spencer, 28, of Montville, who was operating a 2003 Oldsmobile, and Kurt W. Lockhart, 24, of Frankfort who was driving a 2003 Saturn, were traveling around the north end of the Sears Building in opposite directions. Neither operator was able to stop because of the icy road conditions and they collided. Damage to the Oldsmobile was $800 and $750 to the Saturn.

At 5:50 p.m. Mari A. Grondin, 24, of Waldo was driving a 1998 Toyota east on Shepard Road and struck a deer. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $1,500.

Kristian Benner, 36, of Belfast was arrested on a warrant for unpaid fines and summoned for operating after suspension and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

Kellie A. Spencer, 28, of Montville was summoned for operating with an expired registration more than 90 days past-due.

Abigail H. Leaming, 20, of Thorndike was summoned for speeding 49 mph in a 35 mph zone on Searsport Avenue.

Gerald H. Arsenault, 34, of Augusta was summoned for possession of a usable amount of marijuana.

Jan. 22

Renna E. Smith, 17, of Belfast was summoned for an inspection sticker violation and failure to register a motor vehicle that was between 30 and 150 days past-due.

Jan. 23

At 2:40 p.m. Florence Gilmore, 69, of Searsport was driving south on Route 1 in a 2003 Suzuki sport-utility vehicle. Just before she approached the Belfast bridge, she hit a patch of ice and lost control. Gilmore hit the guardrail on the right side of the bridge then hit the left side. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $5,000 and there did not appear to be any damage to the bridge.

Jan. 24

At 11:15 p.m. Justin A. Cookson, 18, of Belfast was driving a 1995 Ford pickup west on Poors Mill Road, which was covered with glare ice. Cookson slid to the right, and then the left before crossing the road and losing control. The vehicle struck a tree and rolled over. There were no injuries. Damage to the pickup was estimated at $7,000.

Nicole A. Flannery, 26, of Searsport was summoned for an inspection sticker violation, operating after suspension and failure to notify of a name and address change on a license.

Jan. 25

Kimberly M. Lawson, 26, of Monroe was summoned for an inspection sticker violation.
