Friends of Unity Wetlands invites everyone to a cabin fever reliever potluck supper and benefit concert Friday, Feb. 19 at the FUW office, 93 Main St. The 6 p.m. potluck supper will be followed at 7 p.m. by music with Curt Carter.
Singer/songwriter and environmental educator Carter writes and sings folk songs about the rivers, land and people of southern Illinois and the Ozark region. He has been performing regionally for more than 25 years as part of the duo Carter and Connelly.
Carter describes their work as environmental music with a message.
“‘Alone of a river’ will make you ready for your float trip. ‘Built by Friends’ and ‘Little Old Town’ describe why we love living in Maine,” he said.
There is a $5 suggested donation, free for children younger than 13. All proceeds will go to FUW’s conservation efforts. For more information, call 948-3766.
