Thomaston Grammar School’s Nick Judge sprawls on the court in an attempt to corral a loose ball during the Feb. 6 Busline League Small School Division basketball championship at Lincoln Academy in Newcastle. “I saw a hole so I thought, ‘OK, I’ll try and penetrate through this and try and get to the basket or maybe get fouled.’ But then I got tripped,” he said. Judge said the Cougars picked up the ball and got a fastbreak layup on this play, but the Clippers still went on to win the league title 61-49 over Great Salt Bay of Damariscotta. “It was really cool. It was the second year we went undefeated, so that was really exciting. We worked really hard all year and I’m glad everything paid off.”
