Ruth B. Woodward, 84, died Feb. 13, 2010.

She was born in Belfast Feb. 19, 1925, a daughter of Ernest and Agnes (Blanchard) Burton. Ruth graduated from Crosby High School in Belfast and resided in that city her entire life. She lived at her Lincolnville Avenue home for 65 years. She worked side-by-side with her husband on several farming operations, including hatching egg production and blueberry harvesting. She enjoyed working as Ward 3 election warden for the city of Belfast.

Ruth was a member and former treasurer of the Belfast Garden Club and a member and former treasurer of Penobscot Expedition Chapter, DAR. She was an active member of the First Church in Belfast and a member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants.

She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Lee Woodward Sr.

She is survived by two daughters, Yvonne Davis and her husband, James, of Stockton Springs and Tonne Woodward of Belfast; two sons, Lee Woodward Jr and his wife, Lorna, of Belfast and Ernest Woodward and his wife, Natalie, of Stockton Springs; and four grandchildren, Lauren, Lindsay, Alex and Makenna.

Family and friends are invited to call from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16 at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Church in Belfast with the Revs. Kate Winters and Joel Krueger officiating. Spring burial will be at Grove Cemetery.
