The Maine Coast Welcome Center, 169 Searsport Ave./Route 1, seeks photographs that illustrate the places to stay and things to do in this scenic area.

The Maine Coast Welcome Center was started in 2008 as a privately funded operation, supported entirely by Maine businesses. In its first season, the center had visitors from all over Maine, 49 states and 42 countries. To make it easy for visitors to find products and services on its web site, MCWC has arranged its members’ businesses into categories such as “Places to Stay” and “Things to Do.”

Everyone can compete to have their photos published on the Maine Coast Welcome Center Web site under a category they choose. Photos and stories of Maine experiences are sought; winners will have their photos added to the site and be credited with their name and where they are from.

Category winners will be selected by the staff of the Maine Coast Welcome Center on May 1. They will be assisted by Neal Parent, renowned photographer of Belfast. Category winners will be entered into a drawing for prizes from our member businesses: Maine Lodging; Maine Dining; Maine Tours; Maine Products; and more. A complete list of prizes is listed on the Web site: Maine-Coast-Welcome-Center.com.

The prizes will be drawn at the center’s May 20 open house. For more information, call 415-5646 or visit the Web site.
