Saturday, Feb. 20 from noon to 6 p.m., the Game Loft will host a Magic tournament. Magic: The Gathering, the first modern collectible trading card game of its kind, continues to flourish and grow in popularity. This tournament will offer a fun introduction for a beginner as well as a challenge for the seasoned veteran. The Game Loft’s senior programs coordinator, Maxim Delaney, will moderate the non-DCI tournament, which will be conducted in single Swiss format, with 40-minute rounds.

It will be a booster draft, using World Wake; participants should bring their own land cards if possible. This Magic tournament is open to the public, all ages are welcome, and no experience is necessary. There is a $10 buy-in fee, refreshments will be sold, and proceeds benefit the Game Loft. Walk-ins welcome; for more information, contact the Game Loft at 338-6447 or by e-mail at thegameloft@spurwink.org.

The Game Loft provides an environment where young people are guided to become caring, competent, confident, contributing and connected adults. The Loft is open Monday-Thursday, 2-6 p.m. and Friday 2-8:30 p.m. All Loft programs are free and open for young people age 18 and under. The Game Loft can now also recruit and direct interested individuals in 4-H programs. For more information visit thegameloft.org or call 338-6447.
