An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Law enforcement officials with Troop D of the Maine State Police responded to the following incidents in Waldo County during the past week. Anyone with information regarding ongoing investigations is asked to call 800-452-4664.

Feb. 7
Trooper Corey Smith investigated a burglary and criminal mischief complaint on Lebanon Road in Winterport. The complainant reported damage to his front door and it did not appear that anything was stolen. The investigation continues.

Feb. 9
Smith investigated two camp burglaries on Tyler Lane in Frankfort. Smith and Game Warden Chris Dyer got to the camps by snowmobile. A fire extinguisher had been sprayed in both camps. The investigation continues.

Feb. 10
Trooper Donald Webber stopped Felicia Peasley, 20, of Swanville on North Searsport Road in Swanville for an inspection violation. She was summoned for operating without a license.

Trooper Bethany Couturier stopped Martin Lawson, 23, of Monroe on Route 141 in Swanville. Lawson was summoned for operating after suspension.

Feb. 11
Trooper Ryan Brockway escorted a property owner to a residence they were renting in Liberty.

Trooper Jonathan Russell stopped Edgar Spaulding, 32, on Route 137 in Belfast for an inspection violation. Spaulding was summoned for operating after suspension and failure to display current inspection sticker.

Couturier stopped Kyle Downs, 17, of Brooks on Main Street in Brooks for an exhaust defect. Downs was summoned for operating without a license.

Feb. 11
Webber investigated an unattended death on Townhouse Road in Swanville. Investigation revealed a 98-year-old female had passed away at a residence. The death is not suspicious.

Feb. 12
Trooper Shawn Porter stopped Hector Amaro, 24, for a seat belt violation on Route 7 in Brooks. Amaro was arrested for operating without a license and taken to Waldo County Jail.

Porter stopped Pamela Pendleton, 38, on Route 1 in Searsport for an inspection violation. Pendleton was summoned for operating an unregistered motor vehicle more than 150 days past-due.

Porter stopped Nicholas Palmer, 24, on Route 1 in Searsport for a vehicle defect. Palmer was summoned for operating beyond license restriction.

Trooper Elisha Fowlie stopped a vehicle on Route 1 in Belfast for a vehicle defect. Passenger Nathon Johnson, 24, was summoned for possession of marijuana.

Fowlie and Smith responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on Fisher Road in Monroe. The male subject left the residence for the evening and the female was later warned for harassment.

Feb. 13
Smith investigated a report of a vandalized mailbox on Webster Road in Swanville. The complainant reported their mailbox was vandalized between 2 and 5 p.m. The investigation continues.

Fowlie received a complaint of an intoxicated man who refused to pay his bill at a business in Winterport. Prior to Fowlie’s arrival the man paid his bill and left.

Couturier responded to a report of a suicidal male at Penobscot Narrows Bridge in Prospect. A Hancock County Deputy arrived prior to Couturier and spoke to the 17-year-old male. Couturier took the male to Waldo General Hospital for an evaluation.
