Marjorie Louise Emery, 91, died Feb. 7, 2010, at Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport.

Born in Milo Dec. 23, 1918, she was a daughter of Lewie W. and Florence (Townsend) Tyler. She grew up in Freedom and was a graduate of Freedom Academy.

She received her licensed practical nursing certificate in Massachusetts and worked many years providing private-duty nursing care and working at the former Mountain Street Nursing Home in Camden. Mrs. Emery raised her family in Camden and had resided in Freedom for many years before returning to Camden.

She had resided at Windward Gardens for the past year, where she received very compassionate care. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing, reading and playing cards with her sisters and friends. She loved her dogs and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.

She is survived by five children, William Wales and his wife, Connie, of Casco, Catherine Banker and her husband, Chris, of Thorndike, David Wales and his wife, Tracee, of Chestertown, Md., Michael Wales and his wife, Kathleen, of Warren and Judith Dishner and her husband, Dan, of Camden; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Velma Burdeen of Unity, Hazel Cross and her husband, Stephen, of Freedom and Louise Lanphier of Rockland; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Rita Reynolds and Myrtle McDonald.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public services held. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Freedom.
