Camden Hills senior cross-country skier Cyrus Hannibal stumbles and falls while racing in the Coastal Freestyle event Feb. 10 at Camden Hills Regional High School. “The snow was very deep and mushy, and it caught my skis,” he said of the fall. “I was thinking, ‘Gotta get back up, gotta get back up. Gotta go faster to catch up to the group in front of me.’ ” There was a group of skiers who managed to stay a quarter-lap ahead of Hannibal during the 3.1-mile race. “[Falling] just made me work harder in the race.” Hannibal finished ninth among 44 skiers with a time of 13 minutes.
