Belfast Area High School is hosting “RSU Idol,” a talent show to help send seven local high school students to England to attend a sports leadership program.

Seven students from BAHS and Searsport District High School have been invited to attend the Step into Sport Camp at Loughborough University in Loughborough, England, at the end of March. These seven students are the only students from the United States to be invited to attend the camp.

RSU Idol will be held Saturday, March 13 at 7 p.m. at BAHS, 98 Waldo Ave. Tickets are $3 for adults and $2 for students.

Each performer will have a jar and members of the audience will vote by placing a donation in their favorite performer’s jar. The performer with the most money in his or her jar will be deemed the RSU Idol.

A raffle will be held for a variety of prizes, donated by both businesses and individuals. Raffle tickets are $1 each or $5 for six (see below for list of raffle prizes). Winners will be announced at the end of the show.

Anyone wishing to participate or looking to get more information about the event should contact Jon Cox at 338-1790, ext. 114.
