Kayla Blake Bickford, 11, of Searsport, died unexpectedly March 5, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. She was born in Belfast February 20, 1999, the daughter of Troy Bickford and Heather Blake.

She was a vibrant girl who loved animals. Her family and friends meant everything to her. She loved singing and enjoyed playing basketball.

She is survived by her paternal grandparents, Dave and Carol Bickford, of Arundel; her maternal grandparents, Scott and Phyllis Blake, of Searsport; her mother, Heather Blake, and her companion Jim Flanders, of Searsport; her father and his companion, Troy Bickford and Kelly Poulin of Massachusetts; a brother, Kyle Blake, of Searsport; a stepbrother and stepsister, Nicholas and Amanda Poulin, of Massachusetts; and aunts and uncles, John Blake, Herbert and Kim Blake, Damon Bickford, Dale Bickford and Annette Bickford.

Friends may call at the Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast Tuesday, March 9 from 6-8 p.m. where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Spring interment will be at Grove Cemetery in Belfast.
