Camden Maine Arts Collaborations will present its inaugural Live Art Dance Party Saturday, March 20 on the third floor of the historic Camden Opera House, Elm Street/Route 1, at 7:30 p.m.

The all-ages gathering will be hosted by John Orlando and will feature a diverse collection of musical acts including singer/songwriter Jonathan Wood, dance/soul/funk gurus Stiff Whisker and the Driftwood Kids and DJ Terry Frank with surprise appearances from special musical guests to round out the evening.

Thanks to the generous support of local art resource Rockport Blueprint, guests will have an opportunity to join local artist Robert Dyer as he creates a one-of-a-kind masterpiece while the evening unfolds. In addition to working alongside Dyer to create unique works of one’s own, one lucky raffle ticket holder will take home Dyer’s piece at the end of the night.

Raffle prizes in addition to original art will include two passes to the Camden International Film Festival and other enticing spoils, thanks to community businesses and organizations. A portion of the proceeds from the evening will be donated directly to local nonprofit organization Youth Arts.

Everyone is invited to join in this night of creatively inspired fun. By gathering the community together, Camden Maine Arts Collaborations hopes to launch its exciting series of shows in style while proving an unprecedented opportunity for music and art lovers of all ages to kick-up their heels and enjoy hands-on entertainment in the heart of downtown Camden. Refreshments will be provided.

Tickets are $10, available at HAVII in Camden and Wild Rufus Records, Belfast; and at the door. Attendees younger than 14 must be accompanied by an adult and those tickets are by donation.
