— Waldo County Commissioner Donald Berry, at three separate moments during a commissioners’ meeting March 9, addressing a group of neighbors opposed to the plan to construct a new building for the county’s emergency management and sheriff’s offices near the existing buildings. Neighbors say they are concerned about noise, traffic and the effect the new building might have on their property values, while county officials have repeatedly said they cannot build the new facility anywhere else.
