Amon Vaughan was passionate about being a volunteer firefighter for the Appleton Volunteer Fire Department, his mother said. He wanted to go on and study to be an emergency responder but unfortunately his life ended March 17, 2009, in a tragic automobile accident on his way to work at Fisher Engineering.

In honor of his memory and his passions, his family has established a scholarship fund through Camden Hills Regional High School.

A benefit supper will be held Saturday, March 27 — Amon’s birthday — at Appleton Village School. It will be a pasta dinner starting at 5 p.m. A dessert auction will start at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children under 12, free for children under 5 free, and a family maximum of $25. All are invited to attend.
