On Saturday, March 20, Roots & Tendrils will host a live music benefit for Haiti and the organization Konbit Sante. The evening will features performances by Roy Davis and the Dregs, Calvin and the Free Will Agents and Jump Buck.

The event will start at 8 p.m. There is a $10 suggested donation, and all proceeds for the event will benefit Haiti via Konbit Sante. Roots & Tendrils is located downtown at 2 Cross St., on the corner of Main and Cross.

Roy Davis and the Dregs play heartfelt Americana rock with a soul twist and enough memorable lyrics, vintage guitar sounds and well-placed harmonies to make any indie rock elitist’s mouth water. Calvin and the Free Will Agents is an exciting new project featuring Garrett Soucy of Tree By Leaf. Jump Buck combines folk with a lo-fi alternative sound (think Neutral Milk Hotel and Bright Eyes).

Started in 2000, Konbit Sante Cap-Haitian Health Partnership is a Maine-based volunteer partnership to save lives and improve health care in northern Haiti. Rather than developing a second, parallel health system, Konbit Sante works with the Haitian Ministry of Health and with Haitian colleagues to build capacity within the public system for Haitians to care for Haitians.
