Waterfall Arts Belfast, 256 High St., invites one and all to celebrate the arrival of spring with an evening of experimental music Friday, March 19 starting at 9 p.m.

On board will be Mother of Earth offering fiercely melodic March lion sounds and pristine rhythms both human and machine. With their billowing electric violin and bass thumpering, dancing may occur. The band hails from Minneapolis.

Brooklin’s Rude Shed offers sonic soundscapes that promise to provoke both booty shaking and head scratching. Belfast will be represented by Ancestral Diet, thawing beats grown from crumbling artifacts and swelling birdsongs with clanging steam pipes; and Uke of Spaces Corners, providing kindling for the folk beam night stick.

The hat will be passed to gather gas money for the touring band.
