An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Law enforcement officials with Troop D of the Maine State Police responded to the following incidents in Waldo County during the past week. Anyone with information regarding ongoing investigations is asked to call 800-452-4664.

March 7
Troopers Bethany Couturier and Donald Webber responded to a report of a domestic dispute on Back Belmont Road in Monroe. Investigation revealed Matthew McIver, 24, assaulted a female. He was arrested for domestic assault, criminal mischief and hindering the report of a crime and taken to Waldo County Jail.

Couturier stopped a vehicle on Route 1A in Prospect for a seatbelt violation. Passenger Edward Snow, 40, of Bangor was arrested on an outstanding warrant and transported to Waldo County Jail.

March 8
Webber stopped a vehicle on Pitcher Road in Northport. Passenger Randy Lemar, 22, of Appleton was summoned for possession of drug paraphernalia.

March 9
Couturier stopped Justin Barnard, 23, on Route 137 in Belfast. Barnard was for summoned for operating after suspension.

Trooper Shawn Porter stopped Shane Baker, 21, on Boots and Saddle Road in Palermo. Baker was summoned for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Couturier investigated a trespass complaint in Stockton Springs. The complainant reported her neighbor driving an all-terrain vehicle across her property. The neighbor was warned for trespass.

Trooper Luke Cunningham and Detective Scott Bryant responded to an out-of-control male in Frankfort. Midcoast Mental Health requested assistance with a client and the man was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor for an evaluation.

March 10
Trooper Jonah O’Roak investigated a report of a burglary and theft on Route 1 in Stockton Springs. The complainant reported the theft of several firearms, antiques and tools. The investigation continues.

March 11
Trooper Jonathan Russell responded to Leroy H. Smith Elementary School in Winterport for a report of suspicious activity. One of the school staff located a knife and prescription pill on the playground. The investigation continues.

March 12
Russell investigated a report of theft on Townhouse Road in Swanville. The complainant reported theft of a jewelry box. The investigation continues.

Couturier responded to a report of a domestic dispute on Church Street in Winterport. Investigation revealed the argument was verbal only and no assault had taken place.

Couturier responded to East Main Street in Searsport for a report of a possible domestic dispute. Investigation revealed the complainant accidentally dialed 911 and there was no emergency at the residence.

Webber stopped Aaron Gibbs, 34, of Stockton Springs on Route 1 in Searsport. Gibbs was summoned for operating after suspension.

Webber stopped Jennifer Belcher, 24, of Newburgh on Route 69 in Winterport. Belcher was summoned for operating after suspension.

Sgt. David Tripp and Troopers Porter, Webber and Couturier conducted an operating under the influence road check on Route 69 in Winterport. As a result, Webber stopped Wendy Cassidy, 27, and she was summoned for operating after suspension. Webber also summoned a 17-year-old male from Searsport for operating a motor vehicle with passengers consuming alcohol and illegal transportation of liquor by a minor.

March 13
Tripp stopped Ian Wallace, 43, on Route 141 in Belfast. Wallace was summoned for operating after suspension.

March 14
Tripp stopped Morgan Baxter, 18, of Hope after he spotted the vehicle dragging on the ground on Route 139 in Monroe. Seven other juveniles were in the vehicle. Baxter was charged for transportation of alcohol by a minor and a 17-year-old female passenger was summoned for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor.

Cunningham investigated the report of an assault in Winterport. Investigation revealed an argument over some work done on a vehicle. Two of the parties agreed not to return to the business.
