March is Academy Awards month and Belfast Free Library’s Friday Night Flicks series is marking it with three films starring the most nominated actress in Oscar history, Meryl Streep. From “The Deerhunter” in 1979 to this year’s “Julie and Julia,” Streep has been nominated an amazing 16 times.

The series concludes with “Doubt” on March 26. Streep received her 15th Oscar nomination for her role in this gripping drama, directed by John Patrick Shanley and adapted from his Tony winning play. Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams and Viola Davis also were nominated for their roles in this story of suspected abuse in a New York Catholic school in 1964.

Friday Night Flicks are shown in the Abbott Room of Belfast Free Library, 106 High St. All showings begin at 7 p.m. and are presented free of charge.
