The Rockland Art Market is a cooperative based on the farmers’ market concept and its has space available this summer for new artists and crafts people.

This year’s Art Market will be held Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. outdoors at Harbor Park from the end of June until the end of September. Setup is easy, hours are short and everybody helps promote the market.

Current media represented are polymer clay jewelry and sculpture, watercolors, paintings in oil and acrylic, hats, scarves and costume wear and photography. The market is open to all creative media and especially seeks someone to replace the potter who can no longer participate.

Interested artists and artisans are invited to send samples of their work via e-mail or Web site referral. There will be a jury meeting later in the spring to meet current members. Participants need to have their own white canopy/tent and pay yearly dues to cover a share of the market’s space and advertising expenses.
