“Roadside 2010,” a show featuring new paintings by Eric Leppanen, runs from Friday, April 2 through April 29 in the Belfast Co-op Café Gallery, 123 High St. An opening reception will combine with a wine tasting Friday, April 9 from 7 to 9 p.m.; attendees must be 21 or older.
“Roadside 2010” is a collection of paintings made from materials found and recycled. Leppanen said he tries to orchestrate a constellation of effects with paint.
“I find paint and accessories aside the road that people discard, in old barns and basements that I clean out. Projects are made with recovered discarded paraphernalia, canvas, wood, wire and paint,” he said.
For more information about the wine tasting, contact Ron Poirier at the Co-op, 338-2532.
