The 26th annual Family Wellness Fair, a free health fair sponsored by Waldo County General Hospital, takes place Saturday, April 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Troy Howard Middle School gym located on Lincolnville Avenue (Route 52).

This year’s fair offers 40 booths on a wide range of health topics for adults and children. Everyone is invited to attend, and door prizes will be awarded.

All of the health screenings are free of charge, including blood pressure, pulse rate, spinal analysis, cholesterol and hearing.

Planned exhibits and demonstrations include: dental health, nutrition, asthma information, aroma therapy, proper hand-washing, diabetes education, tick information, skin care, sunscreen products, stress management, elder issues, mental health and smoking cessation, among other topics.

Many booths are interactive — you hula-hoop, try the vehicle roll over simulator or eat a nutritious snack. The Belfast Co-op Store will offer free health and beauty samples. Children will enjoy face-painting, stamp art, play dough and coloring.
