Waterfall Arts Belfast, 256 High St., will hold a Spring Art Camp for children age 8 to 12 during April school vacation week, Monday through Friday, April 19 to 23. The camp will meet each day from 9 a.m. to noon.

The week’s theme, Explore the World of Wire, is inspired by the artist Alexander Calder, master of wire and creator of the mobile. Instructor Lesia Sochor will talk about Calder and show examples of his work. She said campers will twist, bend, imagine and shape wire to make mobiles and a circus.

“Calder said ‘I think best in wire.’ For the week, that is what we’ll do,” Sochor said.

Tuition for the week is $90 plus a $5 materials fee. Additional siblings can attend for $80.

After vacation week, Linda Stec will lead another round of the popular Wonders of Clay for Kids class Wednesday afternoons from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. April 21 through May 26. The clay class is geared for children age 5 to 17. Stec is passionate about clay and its magical qualities. Students will make pots, figures, sculptures and bowls and learn to glaze, fire and finish pieces. Tuition for the six week class is $115; additional sibling $100. All materials are included.

A limited number of partial scholarships are available through a grant from United Midcoast Charities. To register, for more information or to request a scholarship application, call Waterfall Arts at 338-2222 or visit waterfallarts.org.
