Events Committee Co-Chair Beverly Winship has announced results of Future MSAD 3’s annual penny drive. This year, in addition to participation by all elementary schools in the district, contributions were also made by the Mount View Middle School, Mt. View High School, Unity Head Start and an anonymous donor. Students, faculty and parents collected a total of $1,110.58 this year, compared to last year’s total of $1,086.59.

Of all the participating schools, Mount View Elementary School was the top collection group, with a total of $479.79. The class collecting the most pennies from Mount View Elementary was Rhonda Carlin’s fifth grade, with an average of $6.07 per student.

Other champion classes collecting pennies were: Rebekah Bosco’s first- and second-graders at Troy Elementary, with a total of $84.58 in pennies; Lynn Warren’s second-graders at Morse Memorial Elementary, with a total of $40.63; and Laura Donahue’s first-graders at Unity Elementary, with a total of $19.31.

This penny drive contributes to the support of Future MSAD 3’s capital campaign for Mount View athletic and recreational enhancements. Future MSAD 3 is committed to helping create quality athletic and recreational opportunities for the youth of SAD 3. This penny drive brings the goal one step closer to investing in a brighter and healthier future for the community and its children.

Future MSAD 3 is a nonprofit organization governed by a board of 19 volunteers who all live in SAD 3. Its mission is to raise funds to enhance particular areas at the Mount View School not covered by state funding. All gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
