R Space, the Midcoast’s new all-ages, chem-free music venue, has lined up several evenings of music and more. The shows will take place in the lower level of Lincoln Street Center for Arts and Education, 24 Lincoln St.

On Thursday, April 15, an R Space Unplugged Open Mic and Coffeehouse with Jessie Chazin will run from 6 to 9 p.m. The first hour is open mic; those who wish to perform should arrive at 5:45 p.m. to sign up. There will be a jam with everyone after Chazin’s performance. Admission will be $2. The open mic/coffeehouse will be held every third Thursday of the month.

On Saturday, April 17 there will be a punk and metal show with Jodi Explodi, Hessian, Belfast’s The Class Machine and Rockland’s Tastes Like Chicken. The music will run from 6 to 10 p.m. Admission is $5. Those younger than 14 must be accompanied by a guardian.

Coming up on Saturday, May 8, R Space will host a progressive/hardcore metal show with The Divine Ruin, A Constant Battle, the Grindhouse and Misfire. The music will run from 6 to 10 p.m. Admission is $5. Those younger than 14 must be accompanied by a guardian.
