The Rolling Stock Company is casting for its second-season summer comedy “Love and Money.” It is looking for four men and two women to join the company for a series of performances to be given around the Midcoast.

Male parts include Pantalone, a rich countryman in his 40s; Pollicinella, his neighbor; the Captain, a fierce military man; and the highly romantic Lelio, who is in his 20s.

Female parts include Dulce, Pollicinella’s beautiful young daughter; and Servette, Pantalone’s witty servant.

The Rolling Stock Company specializes in Commedia dell’ Arte comedy, in which the actors know their characters and the plot but invent their dialogue on the spot. Often, the traditional male Commedia characters are masked.

The company’s plays are performed on a mobile stage built on a trailer. This allows the performances to be staged almost anywhere. Last season, the company played in Rockport, Camden and as far away as Friendship.

Those interested in joining the Rolling Stock Company should call Jon Potter at 236-2852 and leave a message or send e-mail to jpotter@midcoast.com. The first cast meeting is scheduled for Sunday, April 25 at 4 p.m. in Rockport.
