An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity between March 30 and April 6.

April 1
John Dunham, 30, of Waldo was arrested on a warrant.

Amos Robbins, 29, of Frankfort was arrested for a probation violation.

April 2
Gavin D. Cross, 28, of Belmont was summoned for criminal speeding, failure to stop for a law enforcement officer and operating after suspension on Route 3 in Belfast.

Kayla M. Ashworth, 18, of Prospect was summoned for an inspection sticker violation and criminal speeding on Route 174 in Prospect.

April 3
Heidi L. Leathers, 29, of Belfast was summoned for operating after suspension.

At about 6:30 a.m., Abraham L. Staples, 18, of Searsmont was driving a 1998 GMC sport-utility vehicle south on Savage Road in Waldo when a deer ran out in front of him. Staples swerved to avoid the deer and went off the road. There was an estimated $600 damage to the vehicle’s steering components, but Staples was not injured.

At about 12:24 p.m., Neal E. Wood, 42, of Belmont was driving a 1991 Harley Davidson motorcycle north on Route 1A in Frankfort in a group of motorcycles. Wood, who was following a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Brian A. Staples, 36, of Belmont was too close and could not slow down fast enough when Staples slowed down. Wood hit the back of Staples’ motorcycle. Wood and his passenger, Kimberly Wood, 46, both came off the bike and went into the ditch on the northbound side of the road. Staples managed to get his bike stopped down the road. There were no injuries. Damage to Wood’s motorcycle was estimated at $6,000 and about $300 to Staples’.

April 4
Damian J. Spelas, 26, of Orland was summoned for an inspection sticker violation.

April 5
Daniel Beeton, 20, of Stockton Springs was arrested for violating condition of release.

Tami M. Day, 47, of Belfast was arrested for violating condition of release.

Michael Ripley, 19, of Belfast was arrested for trafficking in scheduled drugs.

David L. Ricker, 52, of Jackson was arrested for criminal mischief, domestic violence assault and domestic violence terrorizing.

Ashley M. Shute, 26, of Belfast was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.

April 6
Michael A. Curtis, 21, of Searsmont was arrested on a warrant for unpaid fines.
