“10 Tactics for Turning Information Into Action,” a film about using technology for human rights and social change, will be shown Wednesday, April 21 at 6 p.m. in the Abbott Room of Belfast Free Library, 106 High St. A discussion about how new technologies are used locally in Waldo County will follow.

The film was produced by the Tactical Technology Collection, an English nongovernmental organization whose mission is helping human rights advocates use information, communications and digital technologies to maximize the impact of their advocacy work. Examples of how technology can be used to help people throughout the world will be demonstrated. The tactics based on the use of information technology are applicable most anywhere.

The film is sponsored by the Peace and Justice Group of Waldo County and is part of its monthly (third Wednesdays) community forum. There is no admission cost, although donations are accepted. For more information, call 338-5639 or 525-7776.
