Poet and art writer Carl Little will combine his passions in a reading and slide presentation Sunday, April 18 at 3 p.m. at River Arts, 170 Main St./Business Route 1. The program is free and open to the public.
Little will explore the rich relationship between poetry and art through the work of Brueghel, Klimt, Hopper, Auden and others. Little will feature several of his own poems tied to artworks including selections from his collaboration with painter David Estey at the 2009 Belfast Poetry Festival.
“Art has been prompting poets to write verse for centuries and the genre has its own fancy adjective: ekphrastic,” Little said.
For more information about Little’s talk, titled Poetry & Art: An Ekphrastic Reading, or other River Arts activities, call 563-1507 or visit riverartsme.org.
