Coastal Mountains Land Trust will host a nature photography workshop led by Ben Magro Friday, April 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Stover Preserve. The preserve offers a variety of natural settings, including gorgeous views of the Passagassawakeag River. This introductory-level workshop will cover basic composition, depth of field, landscapes, fringe light, and more.

This event is free and group size is limited to 15 people. Call 236-7091 to register with the Land Trust. Participants should bring a film or digital camera, tripod if possible and lunch. Please also familiarize yourself with your camera’s manual functions prior to the workshop. Appropriate attire for a trail walk is recommended.

Magro of Appleton has been a working photographer for almost 40 years. He has been published in many well-known magazines and newspapers, both locally and nationally, completing more than 250 assignments. He worked in his downtown Camden studio for more than 20 years and is now in Belfast, where he continues to produce commercial and editorial photography.

The Coastal Mountains Land Trust has worked since 1986 to permanently conserve land to benefit the natural and human communities of western Penobscot Bay. To date, it has protected more than 8,000 acres.
