Jane E. Taylor, 58, a retired financial and real estate adviser, died in Austin, Texas, early on the morning of April 7, 2010. She had been battling cancer.

Jane Edwina Taylor was born in Boston Jan. 19, 1952. She was the third child of Alden R. Taylor Jr., and Edwina (Kelley) Taylor. She was raised in Wilmington, Del., and graduated from Mount Pleasant Senior High School. She then attended Marjorie Webster Junior College and the University of Delaware.

Her working career began in Boston, where she worked for a number of financial services organizations in client-service roles. She then moved to Alexandria, Va., and continued working in financial services. Concurrently, she pursued licensing as a real estate professional, ultimately establishing her own business in Virginia. She then moved to Belfast and worked for MBNA before retiring. In her retirement, Ms. Taylor traveled extensively.

She was predeceased by her parents.

She is survived by her beloved companion, Kim Michael Nilles; a brother, Alden R. Taylor III; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Taylor; three nephews; a niece; a grand-nephew and a grand-niece.

Memorial services in Maine and in Texas are being planned.
