Johnny Morrison passed away with his friends at the Gibson Pavilion at Maine Medical Center in Portland on April 16, 2010, with his family by his side, after a phenomenal battle with leukemia.

He was a dedicated and passionate fisherman who had an intense loyalty and love for his family and friends. He also had a “real fire” for the great outdoors. His kindness, generosity and zest for life will be greatly missed by everyone he touched.

Johnny was born Sept. 19, 1951, in Rockland to Etta and Mertic Morrison. He lived half his life on Swan’s Island and the other half in Jefferson.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Morrison; his dogs, Leroy and Sadie; his daughters, Bobbi Kirchdorfer, Jessie Morrison and Tracy Morrison; his sons-in-law, Bruce Kirchdorfer and John Souza; his grandchildren, Larissa Sykes, Ashley Souza, Celyna Morrison and Johnathan Souza, all of Jefferson; his mother, Etta Morrison of New Harbor; his siblings, Myrna Morrison of Waterville, Linda Vanella and her husband, Rick, of New Harbor, Christine Morrison of Brattleboro, Vt., Dennis Morrison and his wife, Tami, of Damariscotta, Michael Morrison of New Harbor, Mary Stevenson and her husband, Thomas, of Jefferson and April Morrison of Nobleboro; his special niece, Melissa Tozier of Ellsworth; his aunts, Theo May, Leona Buswell and Betsy of Swan’s Island and Theresa Orcutt and her husband, Harris, of Bremen; his uncle, Albert Buswell of Swan’s Island; many nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as his extended and loving family of Willie and Debbie Viola of Windham, and Dale Beauschene of Casco.

Thank you to everyone for all of their compassion and comfort during his courageous battle and a special thank-you to his brother Dennis for his selfless gift and the extra months. Keep on steamin’…

Services will be held Thursday, April 22 at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St. in Waldoboro. An hour of visitation will be held at 11 a.m. with a service to follow at noon. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Jefferson immediately following the service.
