On April 21, Waldo District Boy Scouts traveled to Augusta for a tour of Maine’s State House and Museum. During the tour of the State House the Scouts learned the history of the building and how our state government functions. The Scouts visited both the Senate and House chambers and a tour guide explained in detail how the business matters of the state are carried out when they are in session.

After the State House tour the Scouts had lunch and then toured the Museum. The Museum contains extensive displays on Maine’s industrial history. They especially enjoyed the “Made In Maine” exhibits. The event was sponsored by the Waldo District Committee and offered the Scouts an opportunity to earn credits towards their Government Merit Badges.
