An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Law enforcement officials with Troop D of the Maine State Police responded to the following incidents in Waldo County during the past week. Anyone with information regarding ongoing investigations is asked to call 800-452-4664.

April 11
Trooper Bethany Couturier responded to Howards Way in Swanville to investigate a possible violation of a protection order. A woman reported that Paul O’Connor, 22, had violated a protection order. Couturier located O’Connor, and arrested him for the violation.

April 14
Couturier stopped Diana Robinson, 34, on Route 1A in Winterport in connection with Robinson’s license being suspended. Robinson was summoned for operating after suspension.

Trooper Donald Webber arrested Scott Clark, 21, of Brooks on an outstanding warrant. Clark was a passenger in a vehicle Webber had stopped on the North Searsport Road in Searsport.

April 15
Trooper Jonah O’Roak arrested David Orcutt, 37, for violation of condition of release after Orcutt was reportedly involved in a domestic dispute with a younger male on Ward Road in Prospect. Orcutt had initially fled the scene on an all-terrain vehicle after police were called, and several other officers were brought in to search for Orcutt.

April 17
Webber stopped Preston McLeod, 32, of Orrington on Route 69 in Winterport for speeding. A license check revealed that McLeod’s license was already under suspension, and he was summoned for both violations.

April 18
Couturier stopped Michael Derosier, 39, on the Loggin Road in Frankfort. Derosier, according to police, was out on bail and was not supposed to possess or consume any alcohol. He reportedly admitted to Couturier that he had been drinking, and he was arrested for violation of condition of release.
