An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Law enforcement officials with the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity between April 13 and April 20.

April 15
Michael Ellis, 24, of Stockton Springs was summoned for operating without a license.

Anne Conley, 54, of Warren was summoned for speeding 71 mph in a 55 mph zone on Belmont Avenue.

April 16
Jamie L. Leather, 42, of Belfast was summoned for an inspection sticker violation.

Gerald E. Cross, 27, of Searsport was summoned for operating after suspension.

Trey L. Harford, 17, of Swanville was summoned for speeding 75 mph in a 45 mph zone on Back Searsport Road in Belfast.

Timothy E. Byrd, 50, of Morrill was arrested for criminal mischief and reckless conduct on White Oak Lane in Morrill.

April 17
Penny L. Rigby, 47, of Jackson was summoned for speeding 63 mph in a 50 mph zone on Route 7 in Jackson.

Paul R. Bosclair, 26, of Waldo was summoned for speeding 63 mph in a 50 mph zone on Route 7 in Jackson.

At around 6:20 p.m. Brian Higgins, 34, of Albion was driving his 2000 Toyota pickup truck west on Quaker Hill Road towards Unity. Robert E. Leblanc, 18, of Derby, Conn., was stopped at a stop sign leaving a Unity College dormitory area. Leblanc did not see Higgins crest the hill and proceeded to drive his 1997 Ford 4-door into the roadway and struck the driver’s side of Higgins’ car. Higgins tried to avoid Leblanc, applied the brakes on his car and turned away from Leblanc, causing his car to strike a concrete planter. Damage to the front quarter panel and left front end of Higgins’ car was estimated at $2,000. Damage to Leblanc’s car was estimated at $1,500. No injuries were reported.

At around 8:50 p.m. Flo Dionne, 38, of Burnham was driving her 2005 Dodge 4-door on Pond Road in Burnham and saw a small animal in the way. As she steered to the right side of the road, the passenger side tires left the paved road, causing the vehicle to veer into the ditch, where the vehicle then rolled onto its roof.

April 19
Garrick R. Shurn, 32, of Old Town was summoned for an inspection sticker violation.

Leland M. Young, 54, of Waldo was summoned for speeding 58 mph in a 35 mph zone on Monroe Road in Winterport.

Joan F. Dotson, 50, of Winterport was summoned for speeding 44 mph in a 25 mph zone on South Main Street in Winterport.

Wayne B. Cousins, 37, of Belfast was summoned for operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

Vanessa L. Chaples, 22, of Jackson was summoned for operating after suspension.

Jeremy C. Bennett, 21, of Brooks was summoned for an inspection sticker violation.

Sean P. McDonnell, 26, of Lisbon Falls was summoned for an inspection sticker violation.

Nicholas Harvey, 30, of Stockton Springs was summoned for operating after suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Timothy W. Varnum Jr., 25, of Verona was arrested and charged with harassment by telephone, terrorizing, domestic violence stalking and violation of condition of release after allegedly making threats to and stalking a Prospect woman.

A little after 12 p.m. Daniel R. Lombard, 20, of Unity was driving his 2001 Ford pick-up truck on Kanokolus Road when he looked away from the road for a few seconds and struck a tree that was close to the road. Damage to Lombard’s car was estimated at $5,500, and Lombard suffered an injured shoulder.

April 20
Evelyn E. Lamprey, 43, of Belfast was summoned for speeding 69 mph in a 50 mph zone on Route 137 in Knox.
