Vera Evelyn Clark Richards, 91, formerly of Camden, died April 19, 2010, at Glenridge Rehabilitation Center in Augusta, where she had resided for several years.

Born in Camden July 18, 1918, she was a daughter of Harry Adelbert and Bessie Amelia (Hall) Clark and was a graduate of Camden High School. She married Lawrence Ira Richards in Camden March 17, 1940. She loved her family, past and present. Mrs. Richards enjoyed studying family history and was a keen genealogist. She loved to sew, knit, crochet and cross-stitch and was a wonderful cook. She also enjoyed providing for her family by planting a vegetable garden each year, harvesting and canning the fruits and vegetables for future use. She always had a multitude of flower gardens around her home. She enjoyed sharing these talents with others.

She is survived by a sister, Natalie Parker, of North Berwick; three children, Donald Richards and his wife, Gail, of Rockport, Frank Richards of Randolph and Constance Dickey and her husband, Lester, of Utah; 15 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence I. Richards, who died in 2004; and two sisters, Lillian Shaw and Elsie Stewart.

A private graveside service will be held in the Lassell Cemetery in Searsmont.

Arrangements are with the Long Funeral Home in Camden.
