To kick off Bird Week, an annual event sponsored by the Belfast Bay Watershed Coalition, “Finding, Knowing and Welcoming Migrant Birds,” will be presented at the Belfast Free Library on Friday, May 7, at 7 p.m.

The mixed-media talk will be given by Kristin Lindquist of Coastal Mountains Land Trust. She will celebrate our feathered friends through photography and poetry, as well as including tips for finding and identifying these winged visitors who appear each spring.

Lindquist is development director for CMLT. She is also a published poet, author of “Bald and Ragged Mountains: The Poetry of Place.”

The meeting is free and open to the public.

The Belfast Bay Watershed Coalition is a group of individuals working to support conservation and stewardship of natural, scenic, historic and public access resources in the watershed through research, community-building and education.
