This month at the Belfast Free Library’s Barbara Kramer Gallery, an exhibit of watercolor paintings by Belfast artist Harvey Peterson is on display. The Kramer Gallery is located on the ground floor of the library, 106 High St., and is open during library hours.

These paintings were completed prior to the artist’s transition to doing figurative folk sculpture and his move to Maine in 1996. They all are of the Midcoast area, particularly Stonington and Deer Isle, where Peterson has summered since he was a young boy. They are from his personal collection. The exhibit, which runs through the end of the month, is dedicated to Peterson’s father, who died almost two years ago.
