Local consultant and Jungian therapist Cheryl Fuller has organized Writing for Healing, a group set to begin Friday, June 4. The group, limited to five members, will meet Friday mornings for eight weeks.

“You may want to write to heal from the loss of a relationship, the death of a loved one, a serious illness or other wounding experiences. Or you may want to explore further your inner life,” said Fuller.

Writing for Healing is focused on using writing as a major tool for healing and exploration, she added. Participants will be supported to write the stories they may not have told anyone before. Discussion, writing prompts and exercises will be offered each week to help guide writing. During meetings, members may choose to share what they have written, although there is no requirement to do so.

“Studies have shown that writing not only heals trauma and helps to resolve inner and outer conflicts, but it helps those with chronic illness. Writing helps to relieve stress and sort out our thoughts and feelings,” Fuller said.
